Day 15: Salt Lake City and Bear Lake
Good Mormon!!!!
Today we were woken up by Dallas screaming like a chicken with her head cut off at a fine and dandy 7:15. We had a yogurt parfait buffet breakfast including a variety of different yogurts, granola, and plenty of fruits! We loaded up to head to Salt Lake City. We visited The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints while a big parade for Pioneer Day was taking place throughout the city. The sisters were busy watching the parade so our tour guides were none other than our fabulous counselors, Alyssa, Brice, and KS. We learned that outside the church they have a bell that rings on the hour to celebrate their freedom from religious persecution, and they have HUGE organs that are very important to the church in their celebrations. After our counselors gave us our tour of the church, we walked across the street to a mall where we were set loose to shop and get lunch. Most people visited the Apple store and ate at Chick-fil-a for the first time in a while. Others did some shopping and a small few went to another restaurant besides Chick-fil-a. After the mall we loaded up and headed towards our Walmart stop for the day to get our next few meals. At Walmart, many people got ready for the rodeo by buying rodeo outfits!! Our drives were full of more singing and a lot of catching up on sleep because we are losing hours coming back east. We arrived at our gorgeous campsite at Bear Lake. For dinner tonight, our cooks are cooking up breakfast for dinner!!! Hunger Games took a turn as each group selected a member to propose to Will. Will did say yes to every proposal, but Ryan J won with best proposal. After dinner we had our water balloon competition and the Sleepy group won!!!!! After we swam and bathed in the lake, we finished our night in the perfect way with a sunset singalong!! There were fireworks for Pioneer Day off in the distance as we went to sleep.
See you in 7 days, Love the Sneezys!
