It’s the Happys again! (the best group ever)
Greetings from South Dakota! Today we woke up at 7 am at Ponderosa Campground and headed out of Wyoming. We had a famous visitor, Clint Boyer, who felt sorry for us and our sleeping arrangements so he brought us donuts. We loaded up on the buses and took our morning naps, per usual. We were woken up by the Sleepys who fed us delicious muffins, (Chocolate, Blueberry or Banana Nut) and bananas. We continued to drive as some people slept, some read and some played card games like Uno. Then, it was time for lunch. We had Buffalo Chicken Ranch Wraps, YUMMMM! We took a short intermission from driving and stopped at Walmart so the cooks could pick up our dinner. We drove from Walmart to the City Park in Custer, South Dakota where all the groups practiced for our upcoming dance competition. Let me tell you, competition is fierce. The cooks provided hot dogs, corn, beans, chips and of course, dessert (Dallas is very adamant about sweets after every meal). Then it was off to visit the famous Mount Rushmore for pictures with our favorite presidents. While Gilbert and Hunter marveled at the glorious mountainside carvings, others enjoyed some delicious ice cream and souvenirs. With some great pics on our cameras, we left Mount Rushmore and headed down the Black Hills to the oldest YMCA ever, located in Custer, South Dakota. We caught up on research from Aedan and Aaron who had research from yesterday. Sarah H and Abbey H presented their research on Mt. Rushmore and South Dakota. Tonight, we are enjoying our night indoors on TWB by having a girl slumber party and a less fun boy slumber party on the opposite side of the gym. With an early wake-up call tomorrow the Happys are ready to get some beauty sleep in preparation for Colorado.
Goodnight!
