Good morning from the Sleepys and Carl!
We woke up at 7 am this morning to head to San Francisco cliffs. We had pop tarts and apple juice for breakfast on the way to the cliff. We saw a nice view after making our way through the cave. Before walking up to the bus, we had a race to see who was the fastest on the trip. They raced up a steep hill and though it was close between Ryan J. and Hunter, Ryan pulled through! But, the participants did not feel too hot after this race. On the way to the city, some of the guys got sick… sounds like they weren’t in shape. On our way to Fisherman’s Wharf, we passed The Painted Ladies seen in Full House! We made it to the pier where we had a view of the famous Alcatraz prison. Upon arrival, we listened to some research. The research consisted of Alex with San Francisco, Maddie M with Chinatown, Audrey with Fisherman’s Wharf, Erik with Lombard Street, and Addison M. with Pacific Ocean. We then took pictures with our groups and left the pier to explore the city of San Francisco! Most people started in various gift shops along the pier and others headed down to Ghiradelli Square to buy chocolate. Coit Tower, Lombard Street, Little Italy, Chinatown, and Union Square were among the attractions that some of us visited. For lunch, most people ate clam chowder or at In n Out for the first time! Many people bought souvenirs and cheap clothing items from Chinatown as well. After a long day of shopping and sightseeing, everyone met up in front of the restaurant to eat dinner. We had fun sitting together and talking while we enjoyed delicious Chinese food. After dinner, we were all given fortune cookies, which we ate on the way back to the bus. Many people stopped to get ice cream and gelato. We then rode to the Golden Gate Bridge and walked all the way to the end of it. As we crossed the bridge, we held hands with our friends and walked 23 steps together. Now, we are all best friends for life! ☺
